Default yet another exhaust question,lol

have a few problems, some parts need to be changed out,so I'm having a 95in stage 2 kit put in my bike, which will take care of most of what i need to have done, and pump up abit more grunt in the motor for hills and two up riding at the same time,my question is this.......
do i have to change out the stock mufflers? I'm guessing it would make it breath better, but i dont want "loud" was thinking about touring mufflers but was told they dont breath much better than stock, and that the screaming eagle 2 mufflers would be a better choice to free up the exhaust, and arent very loud at cruising speed. Money is going to be tight,if it needs to be done,i'll do it,if not.... would rather put the money into other parts i may need to replace.

2004 EG police FI

thanks,

Mike

I know for the SE Slip-ons I can cruise at 80 and both my passenger and I can still listen to the radio, but around town when you get on it they sound good. In my opinion they are a great pipe and can still save some $$$$$.

I have a 99' ultra with SE breather and down load. I'm going to buy some pipes next and I think they'll be SE2 slip -ons. I like the slash short on top, long on the bottom. Here's my question.. Are the short on top any louder from the seat of the bike than the long on top pipes?
