I have been running the Hypercharger for 13 years now. No complaints. Ran with the CV carb and now the Mikuni HSR42. Should have ditch that CV carb a long time ago.

from my experience with hypercharger, its like a ram air kit,the faster you gothe more air is coming in at 110 miles an hour you can still feel the bike pulling when you twist that trottle.that was on my fxst2000 with cv carb and d&d slip-on without baffles.now i want to try that set up or similar with my flhx2007.from what i ve heard from my friend running screaming eagle or basic k&n,its not the same.

I doubt if a Hypercharger has a ram air effect on an engine. I'd guess that buying one sometimes has a placebo effect on the rider.

The intake velocity is around 650 feet per second....for the ram effect to work with the Hyper Charger you would have to over come this speed of the intake to RAM it in........to over come this 690 fps you would have to do 2 1/2 football fields in less than one second, I don't think so, save your money if your looking for the ram air effect.

Now I know its you Doc...[HDMD88]

I think the hypercharger looks great with the stinger trap door add on and it never gave me any problems in the heaviest of rains or anything; so don't let the anti-charger people talk you out of it if you like the look and think it will fit the scheme of your bike...they willsupport your other horse power mods just fine due to the K&N filter. If over 90hp, you will need thehyper pro or pro-R, or stinger add onto keep up withthe air flow demands. Thehyper + stinger has been tested up to 130hp and the ProR has been tested on 150hp motors with no hp loss.

Since I just totaled my bike, I get the chance to start all over and this time I think I like the look of the kuryakyn Hi-five air cleaner better.

Sea Hag I never said it was a bad unit....matter of fact a couple post up I stated it was fine but expensive that's all. The K&N filter it uses is great for power.

You misunderstand...As soon as I read the statement about the intake velocity speeds I KNEW you had to be the same "Doc" I had learned so much from....Not criticizing your opinion at all. I did note that you didn't say it didn't work, but that you could buy equal or better performance for less money. I just threw my $.02 in as a user who'd had satisfying results using one for six years.
