I put some 4" megaphone slip on's on my 2016 road glide ultra and the left side changed the black paint to copper/gold color. granted they were not $500. pipes but why did only the left side change color?

 

The tip was most likely anodized and the heat will cause it to change color. This is very common on Rinehart mufflers and alike..
