Default Street Cannons only now require an ECM recalibration?

I just revisited the Harley website and happen to take a peek at the Street Cannon Slip-On mufflers. To my surprise, it now states that these require an ECM recalibration.

I know for a fact that when I bought a set for my last bike (2013 Ultra) the description stated clearly that there was NO ECM recalibration required.

Is this the result of the new regs from the EPA? I know a ton of people run these with no recalibration and good results.

What's up with the change and is there any cause for concern.....My bike is a 2015 Street Glide stock everything except Street Cannons......

Thanks in Advance.

All bikes regardless of modifications will greatly benefit from tuning, thanks to the EPA. While you do not NEED to retune your bike, it is highly recommended. Protect your investment by tuning the bike and getting the A/F ratio correct. It will run better and run cooler. Less heat equals less wear and tear on things...

They gotta make that 15 mil back somehow. Although any download/calibration they do will still be "EPA Approved" lean. get yourself a tuner you controll while you still can.

Appreciate the feedback....I agree with the fact that these bikes are lean enough right out of the factory....Got an FP3 so I'll remap to be on the safe side.

Wise to use the FP3 to get a safe for the engine tune.
Many just put on the Cannons and ride the otherwise OEM bike with no issues, except running too (for me) lean a tune without giving it a second thought. EPA does not give a whit about your bike.
Good luck.
