RUSH 2.50's popping on decel ?
I put on a set of RUSH 2.50's on my Road King . They tend to pop a bit on decelleration . I thought about welding a washer on the crossbar at the rear of the baffle , kinda like the setup on my Thunder Monsters . Do you think this might work or should I buy the 2 inch baffles? And no its not running lean , had the 103 stage 1 download , running a bit rich.

RE: RUSH 2.50's popping on decel ?
I had 2.00' baffles and wanted to go with the 2.50' and got this response via email from a Rush tech:
"The reason behind our Tec's suggestion is the closed loop systemutilizing oxygen sensors to manage the air to fuel balance has a hardtime compensating for the open flow of the 2.50 baffle and consequentlyresults in flat spots in the performance bands. If you are thinking of using a fuel management system to help with the fuel to air ratio then the 2.25 would give you the sound and performance. The new bikes today are not the bikes of yester yearand the things we could do back then are slowlyrequiring a specialists just like the newauto's."Go with the 2.25' and the decel popping will all but be eliminated. Want to eliminate it all...go with the 2.00'.Peace,

RE: RUSH 2.50's popping on decel ?
Well I just installed my rush 2.0 K & N air filter and pc111 I purchased from fuel moto... loaded with map by Jamie at fuel moto... I have to say I am not all that impressed.. Yea I feel a little more hp but as for the sound still too quiet, and I was worried It would be too loud..Think I am going to the 2.5.. but as for the popping... I notice a lot of popping on decel.. only on decel... I am going to call jamie in the morning to inquire about it.. but it seemed to get better the longer I rode... got it all together by about 5 and it is 1am now and have been riding pretty much the whole time.. maybe an hour break for dinner around 9.. but a lot of decel popping.. curious if it will get worse with the 2.5.. hmmmm

Have the 2.0's stage1 and sert 76hp 87 tq. Bike runs like a rabbit. If i am cruising at 80 and roll completely off the throttle it will pop. Since I have no performance problems I am not worried about it. Again popping is only on complete decel from high speed.

troopin, The only way to tell if your lean is to put it on a dyno.
However, you can hook up your laptop and modify your map in the 0% column from 1750 to 4500 rpms range. Start by adding 5 to the values in that range; upload to bike and try it. If it still pops then add another 5 in that range and try again.
I have 15 for a value in my 0% throttle range and pops are 99% gone. I do have to get it dynoed as it seems to have a flat spot in the cruise range but overall my bike's running great with the PCIII.

RE: RUSH 2.50's popping on decel ?
Hi. I have just put Rush with 2.0 baffles, and have a LOT of popping on decel. I checked and found an exhaust leak at the clamps on both sides and took it to the dealer. He did put a torque wrench on it and turned the nut approx three turns before the wrench clicked. Tells me they wern't tight when installed. NOW the popping seems worse. I only have the mufflers right now, no A?C or download yet. By the way why can't the dealers agree on my download. Some say Yes to the download, some say no it needs a PCIII, some say no it needs a SERT. Who do I believe, and is a download the same as mapping.

From what I have read in other post you need to change setting 23 from 16 to 50 and this will help if not stop the popping
https://www.hdforums.com/m_1715335/tm.htm
Change mode 23 from 16 to 50 and the decel popping will go away. All the HD settings for all the diffrent pipe configurations on mode 23 are set at 16,the change from 16 to 50 on mode 23changes the way the fuel pack reacts with the factory ECM, it does not richen or lean anything out. I talked with Adam at V&H after hearing this information from another person and he confirmed that it is ok to do and will solve the decel popping.

Well, I ordered some 1.75 baffles and they came today. I ATTEMPTED to install them, but NOOOOOOOO. When I put the new ones in, they will not go in all the way to the screw hole. Itlooks likethe new ones are about 1/4 inch longer that the old ones. Anyone else have this problem. If so what kind of fix did you use. I guess I could cut off a little on the back end of the baffles. I don't know if that would hurt or not. Any ideas.
