Default Installing new pipes, need help with the grommet

I'm installing a new set of V&H pipes, I'm having great difficulty with placing the rear bracket into the grommet, it seems there's not enough room, I even use a lub to make it easier, now the grommet came out, so now I can place the grommet on the bracket, but it seems there's not enough room for the grommet and the bracket to fit in the bracket holder. I've wrestled with this for over an hour, with different variations of puttig the bracket on, seems like it's too tight. I watched the video on uTube, and they make it look easy.
Any ideas out there in Harley land?

Is everything loose( no tightened nuts or bolts) from the headers to heads connection back? That should allow things to fall in place.

Well I got the grommet fixed, now I'm dealing with a header issue, I have Rienhart true duals, and they won't work with the V&H slip ons, back to the drawing board, looks like I'm going to have to get V&H true duals, sucks to be me

Sorry to hear that... The first I have heard of instal issues like that. Most brands mix and match well.
I have V&H true dual headers with Rhinehart slip ons. Was smooth and easy fit on my 14 SGS.
Good luck...

UGH... You are right. Thanks for that UL.
It does pay to double check fitment before buying.

Thanks UL, does V&H make a 2" inlet for their slip-ons?

Well, had to return the Vance & Hines pipes today, called the company their inlet is only 1-3/4 " Rienhart true duals are 2" so now I need to look for something different, any suggestions? I still want a 4" or larger, could stay with Reinharts, or get something more aggressive. My Engine is a 107, level B heads, upgraded TB and injectors.

I'd like to know as well...bought some true duals and ended up being 2" head pipes. Don't wanna buy new mufflers atm so they're sitting.
