Default oil drip found

Oil is dripping from a rubber grommet at the point where the regulator wires enter the crankcase. Leaks only after a ride. And it's only a slow drip. but creates a mess at bottom of bike. Can just the grommet be replaced, or bothwire assembly and rubber. If I ask the dealer, they'll turn it intoa major undertaking.

They will replace the stator...very costly. You might try inject some kind of sealent under the gromet, be carefull not to get it on your engine finish

I had the same leak from the stator connector about 7 years ago. I used black RTV to reseal the connector. Seemed to do the job, hasn't leaked since.

Thanx a million Doc1 and MikeyB.Finding this forum has been a God sent.Like replacingfluid to gear oil so now I canshift pulling up and noises are gone. But as far as the oil drip,I was hoping there was a fix I could do.Very costly if your dealership does it! They quoted me a price of $800 to replace stator and front rotor. but know we've found a shop that was formed when the service manager from the local dealership quit to open his own. His labor price for stator was about $150. The tips I've found in this forum has made the ride more enjoyable.

I fixed mine while I was putting on a new transmission pulley. Used a little RTV on the inside. Hasn't leaked since.

It looks as though you'd have to apply it from inside, but I'll give it a try from outside. It's worth tryin to save $500.
