Default Why Do You Change out the pipes on your ride?

I just purchased a 2016 Fatboy S and am trying to understand the purpose of changing out pipes for reasons other than just looks and sound?

Do people do it for the sound or performance or look? Are there other reasons I'm overlooking other than these three?

Do the performance benefits justify the cost for a set of new pipes?

Any suggestions for new pipes on my 2016 Fatboy S?

Thanks in advance for the responses.

Stage one generally provides immediate gratification through faster throttle response.
Stage one generally provides gratification later with my girlfriend when she rides with me.

So, short answer for me is yes, it is worth it.

1. Performance
2. Sound ( I don't want loud pipes. I like tone)
3. Uniqueness (I have yet to see my pipes on another bike on the road)

Select carefully, probably a black 2 into 1. Something to bring out the power of that 110.

Performance. On my last swap from a rb racing 2-1 to a d&d boarzilla got me 10hp and my tq stayed the same. Well worth it and it is a touch quieter as a bonus.

Because we all didn't grow up admiring how quiet Harley's are.

Pipes are usually the first thing I put on all my vehicles, 2 or 4 wheels. V8's and V-Twins gotta rumble! You also get a nice little side effect of better performance.

You gotta do the headers to get performance, slipons only get you noise.
