Rinehart 4" slip ons with hi flo baffles......odd sound at idle
Hi all,
I recently installed the Rinehart slimline dual headers with 4" Rinehart slip ons. I liked the sound but wanted it a little louder so I ordered the hi-flo baffles Rinehart sells. The hi-flo baffles are 2.5" instrwad of 2.225 inches like the stock baffles are. I like the sound better but I'm noticing an odd sound coming from the exhaust at idle. The best I can describe it is like a hollow, pinging sound. Has anybody ever experienced this with these mufflers or baffles? I'm pretty sure the baffles aren't lose. I used permatex rtv installing them and they seemed snug going into the muffler body and the end caps were also snug. Is it just the nature of this muffler and baffle combo? Some kind of resonance or is there something else going on? I've never had experience with this large diameter of muffler. I only ran cobras in the past which were much smaller in diameter. I don't notice it will cruising. Only notice it during idle. I love the sound otherwise. Thanks
