Default Short shots on a bagger?

I was wondering if this is a good idea? I love the look. Has anyone else done this and what did you think? V & H has some big radius pipes but at 600.00 I want to know what to expect if possible. Cheaper alternatives out there?

If you love the way they look then it's a good idea from that point of view.
Since you were asking for opinions, short shots would be the last choice of exhaust if I had a bagger. They actually would be the the last choice of any bike I had.
They'll be very loud and you'll lost some low end grunt, but if that doesn't matter to you then go ahead and get what you like.
You asked for cheaper alternatives, so exactly what are you trying to accomplish?

Thanks for the response ... Ya, Short shots not so much. I was actually thinking the big radius pipes, V & H. They just look phenomenal to me. I'm not worried so much about performance as this is just a cruiser to me.
