Default Removing baffle material

I installed a the Arlen Ness Tru-x exhaust on my 2015 road glide this week. It has the different look and sound I was looking for.... But it's a bit quiet. So i slid the baffles out and they are wrapped in steel wool then with an insulation material. Is there any reason I wouldn't remove the insulation around the baffles to let it speak up?

Do it. We unwrap the baffles in Bassani systems all the time with no ill effects on performance. Hell, Bassani tests their pipes with an without wrap to insure they will produce the same w/wo wrap. You will get more volume and more rasp I would guess. And if you don't like it you can always re-wrap it or part of it...

You'll probably get a higher pitched tinny sound. The packing absorbs the higher frequencies. The higher the density of the packing martial is the deeper your exhaust will sound. I was told that when I was looking for new packing when I put Fullsac power cores in my CVO takeoff mufflers and decide to put in new packing.
