Hey everyone couple questions about these pipes. I got a steal of a deal off ebay for these pipes ($275.00) they are just like brand new! They didnt have baffles in them, but i do have them. My first question is, do the heat shields have to be off to take baffles in or out????? Next question is, how loud are they with baffles out???? Ive heard them with the baffles.... I love pipes LOUD!!!! Ive got the Ness Big Sucker Stage 1, and a V&H jet kit to go with pipes... I guess ill make it a 12 pack project... How hard is this gonna be??? BTW way my ride is an 02 FLSTC!!! Any comments would help!!!

 

I have read that if you cut down the allen wrech so it will fit you can make it work and i have also read that with out the baffles it is extreamly loud.

 

I have the straight shots ,and when the baffles were out they were really loud . Loud enough to set off car alarms . I don't know about the big shots ,but on the straight shots you don't have to remove any of the heat shields to put baffles in or out . I did have to loosen up the muffler clamp and the mounting bracket for the front pipe a little to fit the allen wrench in between the muffler and swingarm to get to the set screw

 

I have the big shot longs with the stock baffles....They are VERY LOUD. I'm actually thinking about buying the quieter baffles. But probably won't, I rather have some new chrome....
