What problem?????

If you have 25k milesor more, then you should maybe consider inspecting them....

Not at 8 months and prolly no more than 10k miles.....

Stuff wears out, sometimes prematurely, sometimes it has longevity.....

They are nylon shoes, being pressed against a roller chain assy....

Same type of assembly as the Primary chain and adjuster shoe, just a bit smaller...

Sorry, but if it worries you that much, change out to Gear Driven cams.....

I have heard from one or two knowledgeable sources that they are seeing good amounts of wear on the new hydraulic tensioner set ups. Only time will tell if the new design is a major improvement.

I was referring to the hydraulic tensioner set up that the Dyna's got in '06 and the rest of the bikes got in 2007. If you have a 2006Softail or Touring model the tensioner set up is the same old thing that is a crapshoot as far as wear goes.

xxxflhrci, I just did the roller chain conversion afterfairly extensively researching it & haven't found any negative feedback. Could you please share your sources?

Thanks,

it's a shame HD didn't use a better grade of plastic on the tensioners. there are grades that are self lubricating that never wear out. my neighbor works at a printing company and similar tensioners are used there and they never wear out running 24 hours a day. but save a dollar on 25,000 bikes they saved $25K.

Thenew hyd tensioners area lot'beefier' & the materialis much better than the old orange crap. From what I understand it's the samestuff that'susedintensioner shoes for the counterbalance chain in the 'B' motors.
