2015 SGS exhaust suggestions
I know it's probably a dead horse to ask about this ha but it sucks to search on a phone. Sorry!
So just picked up a new 2015 black SGS and it is beyond way to quite for me (coming from a built 103 with true dual rinehart 3.5s)
Anyways I'm looking to just do some slip ons for now until the winter but I will probably buy the headers before then just to start collecting parts. Want to do an X pipe header thinking the V&H power duals or the Fuel Moto 2-1-2. Suggestions?
Well back to the topic what slip ons to go with? I'm thinking some RC compoents 4 inch or the Bassani DNT mufflers. I want something that is going to be loud with the stock headers but not to loud when I get headers. The last bike would hurt my head after an hour!
Any suggestions or experience with either would be awesome

From experience, the RC mufflers sound a lot like 4" Vance and Hines mufflers, therefore making it sound like almost every other bagger out there....The Bassani DNT mufflers were made to mimic the sound of CFR mufflers if you are familiar with the way they sound. That being said, IMO, they are in the ballpark as for how deep the rumble is, but are not close enough to consider sounding the same. The DNT's are good because they are not loud while cruising so you can enjoy your music and they will not give you a headache or make your ears ring. They do have a nice bark when you jump on the gas but I would not consider them on the louder side of the muffler spectrum. Adding headers to the equation will give you a bit more sound with any muffler but it is not going to be enough to take a muffler you like and make it 'too loud'. To summarize, the RC's will be louder and higher pitched than the DNT's, so I would go with CFR's....

Check the MGS slip ons. I helped a buddy install the MGS true duals on his 2010 Road King and they sound great not sure how far off sound wise they would be from the slip ons and stock heads though.
Also installed some V&H OS 450s on a friends 2014 SGS with stock headers....sound was deep but way too quiet. So we removed the baffles wrap and got some noise out of them.

Update: Ended up going V&H power duals and had it for about a month. They were junk! Took a hit selling them but whoever does V&H's R&D needs to be fired. I ride hard and the collector heat shield drags on the ground and needless to say it almost caused me to fall. I ended up getting a killer deal on some used RC mufflers and I sold the junk V&H and bought what I should have the first time around a FuelMoto 2-1-2. I love it I am very glad I went with the Fuelmoto header.
