Default Rinehart problem and help please...

Got the 06 StreetGlide with the Rinehart new style true duals. Got a "rattle" on the rear cylinder pipe somewhere. When idleing and shaking, sounds like a metal knocking rattling sound. Asked my dealer about it(although I did the install) and they said it is probably the baffle rattling. Anyone heard of this or know what exactly is involved in checking this? Kinda annoying at times... Thinkin
of just doing a 2-1 FatCat, TH, or Bassani and be done with them! lol

Don't laugh now. I had the same problem and Rinehart told me to pull the baffles, hit them w/ a soft hammer to egg-shape them (but not too much) and put them back in. BTW - it works.

Not laughing... I am a machinist and figured it might be a smaller diameter baffle in a larger body rattling. You were in a sense, making the baffle bigger around at the aidest point so it didnt rattle. Will have to try that. Mine seems to be in the rear cylinder pipe. Only at idle.. When it is "clanging" and rattling, if I put my foot under the clamp where the slip on goes on the head pipes and push against it slightly, it quits.. Sound like yours? I assume pulling the baffle wasnt hard. Will have to go out and look at mine and give it a shot...or a smack as you said!

Mine rattle was inthe front one only and only a small smack did the trick. Baffle pull out easily.

I had the same issue. In my case I found the the noise could be eliminated by using a tie wrap to tighten up the muffler to the rubber mount. I used two per side and it stopped the noise.

Make sure the rear pipe isn't rattling against the primary cover. There is very little clearance between the two.
