Default Trick for getting mufflers onto head pipes

I had a set of mufflers on some Vance and Hines Power Duals and decided to go with a true dual header setup. I am having problems getting my mufflers to slide over the new head pipes. What is everyones tricks they use to accomplish this?

I just went through this with my Big Shots install. I can tell you getting the front header header in place was a real bitch. I think having a helper on the end of the pipes might have helped some. I ended up getting the nuts started on the back head, then just pulled real hard forward on the front pipe to get it into place. Be sure to retorque the exhaust flange nuts after the first ride when it cools down. Mine where almost finger tight.

Vaseline works pretty darn well. You don't have to fight it at all to get the muffler to go on.
