Exhaust Torque Question
I have a 2014 Heritage Softail. I had the dealer install V & H Straight Shot
slip on. Since the install I have been getting a lot of pop on decel. I have 22 questions.
First what should the torque be on the clamp that hols the muffler to the header pipe?
2nd Is there some kind of gasket at that location.
This is my first experience with slip ons so I assume there must be some kind of gasket.
I put a torque wrench on the nut and it is 15 ft lb is that right.
And yes a service manual is on my list to purchase

OP, I don't have a Heritage but my FB slip-ons don't use any gasket - they just slide right onto the header pipe and the clamp seals/secures it in place. Your muff clamp is the same as mine, and torque spec is 38-43 ft-lbs. Also, you may want to check the header pipe flange nuts at the head - they have a tendency of loosening up after a while and causing decel pop. Hope that helps.
