So I just installed a K and N Air Cleaner. I have been diligent to ensure there are no gaps. I replaced the rubber o rings with Viton because the original ones tore almost immediately, (one of them disintegrated during a ride. I have also put k and n air filter grease on the o rings themselves and around the air filter. After all of that, I still get a quick hiss (like a turbo hiss) at engine shut off. Based on everyone's reply on this thread I can only assume this is normal at this point. Haven't notice any detriment to performance so I guess this is just life with air cleaner. Please correct me if I am mistaken. I am a long time rider, but a novice DIY guy.

Right now, I'm going through a "fanatical stage" with my bike, where I'm suspecting every new noise as something being wrong.

This is my first HD, and there are some things that are simply different than my previous Jap bikes.

Thank you for all your input.
After riding Jap bikes (Vulcans) for 15 years I felt the same way when I bought my first Harley. Stuff like the kick stand made me very nervous. But I must say I love my Road Glide. Harley’s are just a different animal.

You're probably hearing the last puff through the umbrella breather valves.
