Ok... 98 Harley with no factory supplied fuel gauge ., go figure eh.?
There are " universal kits " available where you can install and calibrate your own float etc. to match the included gauge but they are desighned for the automotive industry . I have seen them and they should be applicable to bike tanks as they seem to be small enough to fit into the fuel inlet.

a one piece tank would cost more just to buy even the dented ones on ebay or c list are to much they adding the cost & time to put one in to me is not worth it , I get about 200 miles per tank (5 gal) on my 94 so about 180 miles I start looking a station , my 03 e glide had a gauge & was off a little from day one

If it makes you feel any better, my 03 fuel injected has a fuel gauge and no reserve.
I wish I had a reserve...that gauge is inaccurate so I don't trust it. I use the odometer method, but my mileage changes city vs. highway by 5 mpg sometimes (if I'm on it) and wish I had the comfort of a reserve position...having run out of gas a couple of times.
My point is you're not missing anything not having a fuel gauge IMHO as they are so inaccurate.

You can also make your own fuel sending unit for approx. $ 40.00.

fuel level gauge and float kits.
In Canada its a store/supplier called " Princess Auto " in the US its called " Harbour Freight " . The stuff is mostly all Chinese but you wont find any of this type of parts anywere else . Good Luck Bro.
