Default Drive belt riding hard to one side.

Started getting a REALLY annoying squeal from the drive belt today, so, I put her on the lift and turned the tire and found the drive belt riding hard to one side.

Tuned the tire in reverse, and it centered. WTH is causing THAT.

I sure hope I don't have a bearing going bad or something.

Bolts were tight and nothing seems to have moved......

Have you done anything to the belt lately?

Mine rubs the tire when turning the wheel backwards but straightens up when turning it forward. Sounds like you have an alignment issue.

Well, I loosened both sides and adjusted the squeak out...I'm just confused as to why it would start doing that all of a sudden......

I took it for a ride and got on a straight run and took my hands off of the wheel and she's tracking well.

My first question is how in the hell do you reach either the front wheel or the rear wheel while you are riding your bike.

My second question is why would you want to???

Or did you do something screwy like replacing your handlebars with a steering wheel?

It's always been doing that, you just never noticed. When you roll any evo forward the belt will track to the left. Roll them backward and they'll track to the right. I was told by HD Service Tech's that this is due to a slight taper of the trans pulley.

Ask any bud that pulls up on his Evo to back the bike up. You'll see his belt starting to track to the right. Just the nature of the beast I guess.

I'm glad it is fixed now.
Don't second guess yourself.
The bike tracks straight and the belt is quiet. Now go ride it.

As for what you meant I can't help you there.
My suggestion is put down the seafoam and then you might type what you mean!!!!

ya been on some dirt roads lately? If the adjustment did it great. If I run to the farm (as we call it) I can get some terrible noise from the belt. A good cleaning has taken care of it more than once.
