I'd be followin' them wires if I were you. I hate mysteries. And surprises.

If there's 2 wires going to it, then it can do 1 or two things: It either connects the 2 wires together or it is powered by them.

Maybe it's a battery for the IDE just below it!? Probably ought not mess with it.

What's an IDE? Just tried to trace it, can't. I'll have to take the electrical panel or whatever it's called off the coil side to try and get in there.

I think he meant an IED.
Improvised Explosive Device.

I guess it could stand for Internal Detonating Explosive.

That's cool, in case of a accident, the seat propels you out of harms way. What will they think of next at the motor company.

That would go right along with the Self Ejecting Tour Pack that shovelheads came with. They would sense a pending pothole or other bump and auto eject the tour pack, keeping it safe from the bump and which you could then watch safely tumbling along behind you in your mirror. Decades ahead of the competition. I don't think the jap bikes even have that today.

Well you know it is safest to get away from the bike in a crash.

A rocket seat would really get you away from the bike in a hurry!!!!!!!
