Default RPM Danger zone?

What should my RPM limit be set to on my ignition? I have it at 5500 currently.

Whatever makes you feel good. I don't have a rev limiter on mine at all (SE ignition without a rev limiter.) I run it until the valves float and consider that my rev limiter.

Set it at the lowest 5500 rpm. We don't run these at NHRA, and they will last longer. If your carb ever stuck open you will be glad you did. Even when I let the dogs out I only push about 5300 and still smoke the competition.

Motor won't run any faster.

Man ya'll are easy on your motors. I lost a speedo once on the way to Sturgis. I just set the tach at 4100-4300 in 5th gear and left it there, basically for 1K miles. On the way back, I kinda realized why I was passing everyone.

Trail you don't have to EVER worry about floating a valve the way you drive.
