Default Leak at the cases

guys, need a little help here...i noticed a leak where the cases meet on my EVO. it looks like theres a type of sealant hanging down? what would be the fix for this? Split the cases? or can I just clean up real well and re seal? if so, what should i clean it with? Brake fluid? and what should i use to re seal it? I've never split the cases on an EVO before...thanks

The best fix includes spitting the cases.
Yamabond is a good sealer.

If it ain't leaking that bad I'd leave it till I was going in for something else.

Yep, thats alot of work if its a small leak.
Check the torque on the case bolts, and maybe just a HAIR more if at specs. Sealant on the exterior will likely do nothing.

Split the cases or buy stock in maxi pads.

If you do dig into it,
Loctite 518 is the best there is for sealing engine cases, it's also anaerobic.

Yamabond or that silicone looking stuff harley uses does not even come close(hence your leaking cases)

It's ruined. Send it to me and I'll properly dispose of it for you; I'll even pay shipping! You can not beat that deal.

Your cases are fine, that's a little blowback from up front. If you want to continue being paranoid clean the bottom of the cases with brake cleaner and check every twenty miles.

I know Catipiller has a 2 part epoxy for external case seam leaks.
