Just purchased 84 FXRP bags with brackets. Wondering if anyone has any info on mounting onto a 92 FXRS. Still waiting for parts in the mail but hoping to stay "ahead of it":

I'm guessing:
a) I'll have to purchase some Easy brackets and drill into my struts
b) It'll mount right up.
c) It'll mount right up but I might have to some drilling and add some hardware.

 

Should be a plug & play deal , ones just a X cop bike & the other is not , very few parts are different between the two bikes ,but will interchange easy

 

If you have the bag guards, you should be good. Bags bolt to the guards and the guards bolt to the the struts. You'll also need the cross brace that goes around the rear of the fender.

Let me know if you have issues when you get the parts and I can send you pics and a scan of the parts manual page. Mines a 94, but I think the bags were unchanged.
