I liked the amsoil 20-50 better than the HD oil,but am using penzoil 20-50 now,If you need heavier oil you could use Red Line 25-60. Those heavy straight weights are ok if the cold start temperatures are 60-80 degrees F , but they don't lubricate well at these colder temps as the motors are designed for multi-grade use.
