Default Correct Name for Part - Throttle Lock/Friction

Hello Everybody

May sound like a silly question but whats the proper name for the throttle lock/friction, found just under the throttle? You twist it and it tightens and holds the throttle in its current position. One came stock on my 1997 FXSTC but is broken!

Trying to search for one on JPCycles and have tried everything from Throttle, throttle lock, throttle friction etc and no joy

Any help is much appreciated

Thank you

PS My new Wheels - missing one pipe for now. Not to everyones taste I know, but I like em

I think the manual refers to it as the 'Throttle Tension Adjuster'.

I just went and looked it up in my JP book (2013)
They are on pages 771 and 772.
They are in the back of the throttle grips and controls section.

They call it Throttle Cruise Assist, J&P Part: 712-941

I cant use choke on my bike for more than 5-10 seconds or else bike misfires badly when I get on the throttle to move (fine idling), so I need this to help me warm her up

Cool! I've been needing one of those for about 8 years. That fancy one at JP is $50, and the HD one is $2.48, guess which one I'm getting! Thanks THC!

Once you have the new one, you might consider adding this very useful little accessory: Throttle Mate. Best $15 I've spent on my bike; I use this every time I start her up. Plus you can quickly lock/unlock the throttle should you suddenly need that hand free for any reason.
