Correct Name for Part - Throttle Lock/Friction

These are the stock HD part Numbers

56396-74a Friction Spring Throttle

11555 Retaining ring

56394-74a Spring, Adjusting Screw

56402-83A Adjusting Screw

56397-74C Is the Kit minus the Friction Throttle Spring

I just picked up the kit from HD, which includes the spring and the clip for $6.?? I didn't know about the clip, which I probably screwed forcing the screw to come out. I just hope the little shoe is still in there, I've had that housing apart a couple times, it could have fallen out without me noticing.

Very common mistake. The kit will fix you up.

I installed my new throttle lock. The JP Cycles looks nice, but being trapped between the throttle cables, I'm wondering if you'd get enough swing to lock the throttle. My wheel needs to turn quite a bit to go from totally free to totally locked. Anyone have one of those fancy things installed?

I a "fancy one". I use it every time I'm on the bike. No interference on the cables but adjusting it to lock is super touchy. Takes some patience to get it right where it needs to be so that it will hold the throttle where you want it while also giving no friction when it's off. I like it, I'd buy another one.

Yep. Have one of those on my Heritage - Best cheap thing I've spent $ on.
