Anyone know the number of teeth on the 98 E Glides , front & rear Drive would be nice thanks in advance ,I don't want to buy a book just for this info

 

It should be a 32 tooth pulley.

the later evo front gear numbers -- motor sprocket 25 clutch shell is 36 devide them and you get 1.44 -

rear sprocket front 32 teeth rear sprocket 70 tooth = 2.19

1.44 X 2.19 = 315.36 is the final ratio -- with a 65 sprocket its 1.44 X 2.03125 = 2.925 final ratio at the rear wheel

So primary is the same as TC88, early Evos having 24/37 primary. I knew there was a subtle difference!

 

There were also some touring models in the late 90's that had the 25/36.

I found this on a 97 police road king that I did some work on.

 

well My brother has a 98 E Glide with just a EV27 cam , he can cruise around 75-80 two uo no trouble & my 94 softie runs hard at 70-75 two up , I have 32-70 for the rear & I was thinking of changing the sprockets ,I do not want a 6 spd , Thanks for all the good answers

 

34 front pulley do the math - but it will looose the slow speed pickup

 

Setting aside how you change the gearing, what would you like of your bike? In other words what is it you want to change?

 

Change the rear to a 65 or as stated a 34 tooth front.

Most people will say I'm nuts but I run 34/65 on my FXR.
