Default Refit Ultra Engine into Frame.

Is it possible to refit Evo Engine back into Frame in one "lump"
(exc. tranny)with Alt.Rotor, Clutch, Drive chain Inner Casing etc.(exc. tranny) .
I seem to remember that someone on the forum suggested that it could be
removed in one "lump". I know it will be much heavier to manouevre back into place.

Its done with the primary and tranny in the frame, then the motor.

Red face

The only time I have seen it done Bungo, by a competent indy (on my Glide!), the gearbox was put in first, followed by the engine, then the primary built up. The whole assembly is around 2 1/2 hundredweight - not a very friendly lump to manoeuvre around your newly repaired (and painted?) frame.

If the frame is still stripped, lay the motor on the primary side then lay the frame over it. Bolt the motor in then stand it up. It works for old guys, but may not stand the Spanners test.

Yes Graeme it is a heavy brute. I want to bolt on as much as possible to the engine whilst it is still on my kitchen table and at eye level !
Didnt post pics. of the Frame after it was welded because I had to get at least one coat of paint on it before it started to rust. The guy made a fantastic job of the welding He has a couple of bikes that he has built from scratch as an example of his work. Will post pics of the Frame first bright sunny day that I am doing work on it. Dont have the luxury of a heated garage unfortunately. Bungo

Unfortunately the front end inc. batwing fairing is still intact.

Sounds like you need to do it the "proper" way...tranny, motor, primary.....its way to heavy to put in whole.

I usually put the bottom end in and put the top end on while its in the frame.

Get a bike jack and bring it to a better level.
