Default Base gasket oil leak

My base gaskets have started leaking a bit. Enough to show up on the cam cover after I ride. Annoying but doesn't seem to affect engine performance yet.

I don't want to crack it open or replace them right now cause I'm too busy riding it. Will I be okay for a while ya think?

When I get in there I looked online and saw a thing called "The" Oil Fix basically a hollow plug for where the cylinders meet the crank case. I think it makes a tunnel for the oil to go through so it cant leak out even if the base gasket sucks. It looks like a good solution though looks like a pain in the *** for a hack mechanic like myself. Maybe just warm it up extra carefully and cross my fingers that it doesnt get worse.
Bike has 55,xxxc miles on it.

What you are describing sounds like a seep.
I wouldn't worry about it for now.

I rode with leaky base gaskets for about 30k. When I changed my base gaskets because I didn't like the leak, it started cascading problems. While I had the jugs off, I "tightened" up the top end, then I figure the tight top stressed the crank pin and it failed, bottom end rebuild. Maybe that's all bs, but that's how it went for me. There is only crank case pressure at the base caskets, it doesn't effect compression or anything else. I wonder if I had just let the bitch leak, it would have been quiet.

If your running synthetic, then consider conventional oil. It may stop leaking after a couple hundred miles...mine did. YD

Running HD 5. Which is conventional oil I was told so that isn't the issue unfortunately.

the hayden oil fix kit or the piglets (don't think you can get those anymore, though) work well... i've used both

They do make much better gaskets these days, although I think HD will still sell you .025" paper gaskets so you can do them again in 10 years or less. I have metal now.

It will run perfectly fine as long as there is oil in the engine.
