TD you may simply have water in the float bowl, causing your problem. Take it off and take a look. One of my BMWs would routinely collect a spoonful in each carb over a period of a few months, so it became a service routine for me. Condensation inside the gas tank accumulates and pools, going down the hose to the carb.
That's interesting, did the Bimmer get regular use?

Usually, but not always, Cowboy. I've had times in my own expierence, when I thought that change A caused effect B and I would get stuck on that and be unable to resolve the issue. It usually takes a new set of eyes to find that effect B was really caused by issue C. If you follow me.

TD, start at the basics, rule out any mechanical issues that might be causing a lean condition at low speeds, then move on to jetting and set-up.

Yes, did about 10k miles a year and a total of almost 90k on it.

Open the idle mixture 1/8 turn,
open pump setting screw 3/8 turn.

If that does not help, you can try to clear the idle/pilot circuit without removing the float bowl,

remove the drain plug from the float bowl,
remove idle mixture screw(lightly bottom first to see where it's at)
blow high pressure with a air hose into the idle mixture screw hole.

Reinstall everything and adjust.

When dicking around with the idle mixture screw, you can mark the top with a sharpie so you can see where it's at with just a glance.see pic.

Yea, I got something outta whack for sure....she's putting out a small amount of black smoke when I blip the throttle.

I tried adjusting per S&S video on youtube, but, couldn't get it quite right.....

It's supposed to be raining tomorrow, so, I'm going to wrench on her then.
