Default oem vs aftermarket

finally got a manual for my 98 flhtci, and am gonna change out the riser bushings and related hardware. priced oem parts, still pricing aftermarket. would like to change out handle bar clamps to one piece as beemervet suggested. harley dealer says no oem one piece clamp to fit. any suggestions on the clamp, and also, oem or aftermarket on the bushings?

You have a choice of rubber and solid bushings.
Rubber reduce vibration and solid transmit all vibration.

A singe piece riser clamp will do nothing to keep your handle bars from getting tweaked sometimes.

If it was me I would replace the rubber bushings with new ones and adjust handle bars as needed.

What about poly bushings? Firmer than rubber, but not solid.

Are OEM bushings rubber or urethane? I would go with urethane, even if you have to go aftermarket it's a better material over the rubber. I think they have better controll and definately last longer. What kind of bars are you going with?

I don't judge, but beastiality is a slippery slope. Next thing you know, lesser primates start to catch your eye. First it's chimps, then baboons, spidermonkeys, etc......

Urethane bushings are good especially with ape hangers. THC is right that the harder materials will be rougher but older rubbers (giggity) will be too bouncy.
