Question Your Suggestion On Buying A M/C Battery

Hi Guys

Getting ready 2 buy a new battery 4 my ' 85FLHTC Harley.
Living here in burning Nevada during the summer takes its toll on my battery.

My bike took a little time to turn-over this morning and I figure its time to buy a new battery.

QUESTIONS PLEASE:

1. What the BEST battery to buy.
2. What would be the price of such a battery ~ just want to get an idea $$$

Thanks Guys

Any AMG or glass media should be fine and about $100 or you could go Lithium for $300 or less but you will need a special charger for the Lithium. The bonus with lithium is they are much smaller and pack a big punch.

Hey Soft 02

I'll fellow your lead and will lean toward a non-Lithium battery.

Try BatteryMart. I got mine for $87.95 no tax, free shipping.

This is what I got. I like the fact it has 2 connections per post and not that funny square nut you have to fiddle with.

I have an Adventure Power battery in my 99 FXSTC that has been in there for 6 years and still going strong. We have a lot of 100 degree heat in Kansas also. Last I looked you could get the Adventure Power batteris on Amazon for $80.00 with free shipping. They are AGM batteries and are very good at least for me.

From some hasty internet research, the Deka appears to make the OEM battery for The MoCo. Their Big Crank AGM ETX20L (310cca) and the AGM Deka ETX20L are near matches with the OEM unit. The mounting posts differ from the OEM battery.

Agreed, the Deka is a great battery, I've used them before. I got my most recent battery from Batteries Plus, it's an AGM w/325cca tons of power and a 3yr warranty. I think it cost me $105 OTD. I very pleased with it and recommend it highly. The only thing I would caution you against is buying a standard L/A they wont last you long and I would counsel against a Lithium battery, along with needing a special charger, they give no notice before dying. In other words, they (LiOn) have full power right up until they die and that probably won't be in your driveway.
