Guys I've been having an on going issue for the past few years where the kickstand would drop as I'm riding, this year it has gotten really bad where it drops almost straight out. It seemed to gotten extreme since I had a shops change the fork oil a couple months back, in fact as soon as I left there shop I rounded a bend and the end of the kickstand hit the pavement. I went back and thinking perhaps the spring just finally bit the bullet bought another spring . Seems to be a lot lazier if the bike has been leaning on the kickstand for a week.
I've uploaded a video to YouTube in the hopes someone may have some idea. Take a look.
Tex I think I fixed the ink. I did put a brand new spring on , it was from drag specialty and they only had a long one and the shorter one. It matched up to the same length as the old one.l
I could;nt see in the video , But if the tab on top is wore out it will be lazy , or over the years the center under the bolt& tab has wore a bit , mine was the tab , I replaced it & she stays up new
Isn't there supposed to be a small metal tab that the spring hooks over when its up? I know my Shovel had one.
I don't know Perki, kickstand has always had a lazy kickstand since I bought it off someone. Good thought though perhaps one of our Evo buddies with an flh can give more detailed information for that tab your referring to.

Cowboy which bolt and tab are you referring to? Do you mean the locking tab and nut? Bike does have 175000 km on the clock so good chance some that is part of the kickstand itself is worn which is what I'm trying to determine.
The rubber bumper is too far forward, pull it off and reinstall it further back, about one inch behind the primary bolt right under the inspection cover.
It needs to be angled down a little too.
The kickstand shouldn't touch the primary when it's in the right position.

You think so? I'm not home right now but ill definitely have a look see . I take it they just glue on? Will this give more spring to the kickstand?
If you got time perhaps you can post a pic of proper location?
Thanks a bunch
