A friend is buying a 1997 Heritage springer classic and wants to buy a matching tour pack does anybody here know if there is such an item or where one might be purchased.

 

Yes, there is one from HD, it is $649 at your nearest dealer. Docking hardware and rack sold separately.

Look, most of those parts are discontinued. I'm mounting in the near future ($$$ needed) a tour pack from the '00 and earlier softails on my '99 Fat Boy with no modifications needed, I've just installed a deatachable sissy bar with the '00 docking, sideplates, etc. Your friend can try to fit a newer tour pack w/o major issues.

Don't know if it will help much but heres a shot of the HD tour pak on my 05 Springer Classic. It work great when I need the extra storage.
