Default Heritage and Fatboy fenders interchangable?

I have a 1992 Heritage Classic and I just bought a 1998 Fatboy rear fender.
1.Will the fender from the fatboy bolt up to the Heritage?
2.The fatboy fender looks wider, does that mean I can fit a wider tire?
3.If 2's answer is yes, how big of tire will work on stock heritage rim using stock heritage swingarm and stock parts?
What other cool stuff can I do to make my Heritage's rear end different from every other Heritage on earth? Thanks, Glenn

To make the fender fit, or to fit wider tires? I already checked the price of new swingarms....

How much wider a tire?
If you go to a 200 tire I think you have to change from a belt to a chain final drive.
You will need more than just a swing arm to accomplish this.
I don't know all the details myself but is seems fairly complicated.

'96 and up rear fenders have a "hole" in them where the fusebox is located. Your '92 has circuit breakers in clips riveted to the splash shield below the rear fender. They should interchange, but you will need to fill the hole with something.

I'm pretty sure that the fenders were the same width for both the Heritage and the Fat Boy in that era.

It is a 1998 fat boy fender. You mean fill the hole so they don't get wet or anything? Do you know the widest rim and or tire a stock heritage swingarm or fender with allow? Thanks

Swap out the tail light for a tombstone tail light and get rid of that big fat signal bar and put the one that looks like the street glide signal lights. That will change up the *** end nicely. Chrome pulley, chome upper and lower belt guards. If you don't run bags, get a set of clean struts without the external nuts on the strut. Chrome swingarm, shotgun shock, all those things will change up the back of the bike so it doesn't look like "every other heritage" good luck, post pics.

Yes, I am totally offended that you want the back of your bike to look like mine. Ha. Yes it is a stock Heritage rear fender with fender rails on it. It's a 96 FLSTN. I know they make a tombstone kit for a 96 heritage fender, mybe Sofbrake is the mfg? Just go to dennis kirk or jp cycle and search for your model.

If you'd like the details as to what's on the pictured bike, pm me. I'm sure these guys dont' want a parts list on the forum.
