Default Is this tire defective or am i paranoid

Just had this Dunlop elite 3 put on the bike maybe month ago, Rode it to work today last turn, it felt like I was on ice back end slipped. I looked at the tire, this is what I see, where the "seam" in the middle should be, looks like it is splitting. The slip was prob from a drip of bikes oil but it made me look at tire harder. I don't like the looks and don't remember any of the others doing this. Goin back to my indy tell him give something else Im not wreckin to warranty that tire

You should check the date code. The dealer or indy should not be selling old tires.

That doesn't look so good. I don't think I'd ride that bike anywhere.

Just did a thorough inspection of mine front and rear, both okay. I got them mail order on sale too. But yours is defective and I would send it back, or take it back to wherever you got it. I am on my second set since they came out and nothing but excellent performance and wear for me.

That is definatley not a factory manufactured cut in the tire and i am amazed
to see it on a tire that is considered as a high end motorcycle tire.
Its obvious that the cut line varies from side to side in a zig zag way.
My experience with Dunlop tires is that they are very noisy but also very high
quality units. I also believe there is a factory cut in the exact same place as your pic. shows but it looks like this cut has seperated in your pic.?
FYI... check the air pres. of the tire for overinflation .
Note; this could be a very big deal !
