Back in the day they claimed to reduce the engine/transmission flex associated with the Dyna design. I saw a lot of them installed on higher powered Dynas.

I bought one for my bike, but sold it on. I wasn't convinced it was worth fitting. I was told they were introduced for early Softails, but they were made for all Evo models. Carlini made them, but they were also marketted by Harley as SE parts.

I've had one on my bike since '95.. Honestly, cant say it works or doesn't because I haven't had case or primary issues.. So, maybe it does work??

Seriously, the idea is pretty sound from my perspective. The Dyna is said to be susceptible to flex in the left side case and primary area when you increase the performance. The primary adds strength to the left, but the right just hangs in the breeze.. This is made an issue due to the rubber mount design.. This isn't the case on the Softtail due to the solid mounts found on the Softtail. If you're going to be putting more power to the ground, I think its a good idea.. It adds that third leg of the triangle, for support..

+1-------------- Sure dont hurt when your throwing dn Hp to rubber mounted engine. More Stable engine tranny primary. I wont be taking mine off any time soon. Do ya really need it? Personal choice.

I scored a brand new in the box one from denmark a couple of weeks ago for 60 bucks shipped. I took a chance with the distance and scored big time. Came with hardware, instructions, new se torque arm and box. I am going to use it on my softail build

Ask Tom84's opinion on this one. He has a great response.
