Default My new BMX/MTB pegs $25

This might be old news but I've seen a few vendors online selling BMX pegs that bolt on to clevis mounts on our bikes. I liked the idea of some bear traps or something grippy like that, but I'm so not paying 90-150 bucks for a pair.

I have forward controls and I had modified a pair of floor boards to fit my bike. They were good for a while but at the angle I ran them my foot traction wasn't perfect and I wanted something better.

I went to my local bicycle shop and grabbed a pair of wide metal Diamondback MTB pedals with grippy spikes. I gutted the innards and slid in male mounts (see pic)that I took out of an old pair of pegs I had. I went to the hardware store and got a couple of grade 8 hex bolts and a couple of thick hardened machine washers. I also added 2 cut to fit rubber grommets in each pedal in case the metal on metal vibrated too much. Anyway, they feel great and my feet do not move at all now. I just bought a pair of big bear trap pedals on ebay to try too for $16 shipped.

Talk about sketchy. I know I have been caught on my mountain bike and road bicycle cleats before and there is nothing you can do as you start to fall over and know there is no way of your foot making it out in time. At that point your just hanging on for a ride to ground.

Are those the ones that you snap your feet onto? Oh hell no. All it would take is a couple of beers and a stop sign and I'd be in trouble.
