got motor put back in after painting frame and got bike ready to start and turned over a few times. then i noticed a good amount of old oil coming out the breather line that comes off the case. is this just old oil from sitting?

ok thanks. i just replaced the cam so i wasent sure if it was normal or if something was replaced wrong

 

If it sits for a while it will come out breather vent which is why there ussually remounted down low away from infront of rear tire. Also make sure you didn't put too much oil in the tank.

 

I find it odd the fresher the motor is on mine the more it gargles and pukes out the breather,when its getting close to needing a little love it almost stops.Mine is cammed and fairly high compression and gets rode hard to show a lot of the 103 inch twin cams what a real harley is about so it needs a little more frequent love than most.



Dont be tempted to add oil if its low on the stick and its set a long time as it more than likely is hiding on the bottom side and will hark a bunch out but return some back to the tank
