Default LBs compression for 10.1 pistons

Before my build I had 160-165 lbs compression check. After my 10.1 pistons installed I have 200-205 lbs compression. I checked this on a cold engine. Does this sound like a correct compression for the 10.1 pistons? Thanks

what cam?

I was at like 215psi with the W6 with ~ 10.2:1, dropped to 185 front / 182 rear with the W8. oughta be a bit easier on the starter without getting too soft on the bottom end.

ev 27 with 10.1 and it starts very easy. no pings. Im just kinda worried about head gaskets with 2oo lbs compression Whats the best head gaskets these days?

220 starts getting into detonation area in heat.

Cometics MLS are hard to beat.

If it is starting good and no detonation in 90 degree weather then you are ok, If the starter bounce gig comes in then you have an option to go with a later intake closing cam to let some air out of it. EV27 is at 36, Woods 6 is at 40 and W8 is at 47 so you can control cranking compression if the EV27 becomes a detonation monster in heat. Head gaskets havn't been a issue with the technology provided, been at 10-1 with a Woods W6H (40 intake) for years and don't cut it much slack using Cometics.

Thanks Bagger, lots of good info. Iv been doing well in the 85-90* heat. No detonation and starts easy. Guess time will tell.
