Some tires come in bias front and radial rear. It all depends on brand and size.
If I didn't replace the rear venom with a Cobra, I'd have a bias on the back and a radial on the front. Do you sell packages like that? Any complaints from your customers?

Like I said, I can't be bothered with worrying about it. Even if my rear tire wasn't rotting I would have taken his offer to replace the rear with a Cobra too. Whether it made a difference or not I prefer to have the same type of tires. Just makes me more warm and fuzzy.

Thanks Doug S. I hope Met takes care of you. Tires are nothing to F with. Last thing I want to worry about is are my tires going to rot away before I can use up the tread.

When I sold my Sporty a few years ago it had a 100 year old Roadrunner on the front that I scored at a swap meet. Bike came to me for a carby prob last week and the tyre is still on there!!! They don't make 'em like they used to!!

Back in the 80's I use to run Continentals on my Sportster, and I liked the way they handled and rode, but they did not last as long as Dunlops. I run Dunlops on my Softail Custom and I have 15,000 on both the front and rear with still some tread left. I know there are probably better handling tires but you can't beat the wear factor on the Dunlops, and I have never had a problem except for mild cupping on the front when they are about worn out.

Some Cobra tyres are radial, some are bias, as you can see from their website - it's always worth checking! I have a bias Cobra on the front of my Glide, along with a radial Storm on the rear!

Avon are owned by Cooper these days and I wonder if they make them in North America as well? Avon is actually British old chap, named after the Avon river. I've used them on my Harleys since the 70s and never seen any form of deterioration yet.

Dang, you've had a rear tire on your bike for three years? You really need to ride more. I burn up a rear tire every year.

There is a Cooper tyre plant, just down the road from me & my brother-in-law has worked there for a number of years. Next time I see him Ill ask if they make Avon tires, there.
Ride Safe,

Hey don't take away my man card just yet, sometimes life gets in the way of using up a tire per season.
