Default Miss is back.

It only misses when taking off from a prolonged stop. It behaves like a carb problem, but it sure feels like a spark problem. Only after sitting at a light for a while, and only for one or two hits. then it's fine. Guesses?

I'm using NGK, the nickle ones. They are new. I did tweak the mixture screw, but I thought I went to the lean side, maybe I've got it backwards. With the carb upside down and facing the mixture screw, turning it to the right would be leaner, right? Or am I backwards?

Right = in and in is lean. You might wanna check float height too. It could be duff lead though.....little misfires are a pig to diagnose, you just have to fiddle and fart around until its gone.

Spanners39 will set you straight but i suggest you check for a weak spark problem also by pulling both plugs , ground them well to the motor , and then in a dark room ., roll the motor and check for a strong blue/white spark.
To check further ., spray water on the coil and plug cables and look for leaking arcs as you turn the motor over .
Replace anything that arcs when wet.
If the spark is ok., the carb. is probably the culprit.

Just thought I'd add that the new plug wires and coil solved this problem too. Running fine again.

Default corrosion on electrical connectors.

Glad to hear your running again , but ...
Your pic. showed enough corrosion to actually prevent a high tension spark at your coil and a part actually gave way when you diconnected the plug cable.
This is an indication that your 25 year old sled needs some TLC at ALL the wiring connectors and not just the ones that caused your immediate problem.
Suggest you go through your electrical connectors to clean and lube them as preventitive maintenance.
Look for the same greenish color corrosion and clean with a paste of baking soda and water , flush with water , let dry then lube and seal the connectors with dialectric grease. Repair any obvious weak wiring etc. by cutting back the wire and installing with new .
This should keep your 25 year old wiring system in good shape.
