extending an oil pressure gauge line to the handlebar
#2
oil pres.
Be sure to armour the line with flex tubing and run it so it is isolated from obvious vibration and stress areas.
Note : Harley motors do not pump oil by pressure , they pump by volume .
This will give you indications on a gauge that look like almost no oil pres. at idle .
See other posts regarding oil pres. gauges on a HD.

There are too many risks IMHO of running an oil line to the handlebars. The two simplest options are either a gauge mounted on top of the cam chest, although that is obviously not where you want it, or use an electric gauge, as 91FLHS suggests.
For details of the pressure sensor go to Ronnies H-D parts website, where you can look at the parts list for '93 Electra Glides and identify the correct pressure sensor. IIRC it installs in the same place as the gauge I mentioned above.
If you have a factory service manual, the wiring diagrams should help you work out suitable wiring. The stock EG oil gauge can be mounted in an accessory pod very easily.
My favourite indy calls oil pressure gauges 'worry gauges'! They cause him more problems than they are worth, because what they tell owners is so commonly misinterpreted. So I suggest you think about this before doing it!
