And how come i feel the loss of power at 2500 with a 28 intermediate but not with the 295? Wouldnt it be even richer at 2500 with the 295 and mess with the power even more? Cause with the 295 it was smooth till the main kicked in but fouled the plugs almost everyday.
If your fouling plugs with the 29.5 then you need to lean out your fuel/air screw.

Dr.Hess was right. I put a 265 intermediate jet in last night and its perfect. So much power in the low end now. I will never have to use my main jet in town again. My super E tho was made before 2004 and does not have threads to put a bigger air bleed. And I'm definitely not going to drill it out. But yeah the power is smooth all the way up now. If you have a stock motor like I do and are putting a super e on it, put a 265 intermediate jet. Definitely woke up the bike. My main jet is still a 66. Might try a 64 one day in the future.

I'm beginning to wonder if the year model of the carb is the cause of the difference between what works for jets for you and what I have.

Could be. My carb is also pre -'04. According to my log, I put it on 7/27/2003 at a cost of $340 (Year 2003 dollars.) I had no idea they added another adjustment (air bleed) until the past week or so when I dug into this S&S Super E talk.

Does your bike have like a step up between jets. Its small but its still there. Im sure the way to get rid of that is a bigger air bleed but there has to be another way. Right?

No, the transition is pretty smooth on my bike. My only complaint is gas mileage at 80-85MPH is kinda low (low 30's), but that's probably the barn door I'm pushing and not the carb so much.

Oh, and it could be that your main jet is too big with that 66. Try the next one down.
