Default 518 on the intake gasket / flanges?

Just as the title says. Should I use loctite 518 on my intake gaskets / flanges. I just dont want it to leak. On cars I usually use some type of rtv silicone but im new to bikes. Im having a hard time dialing the s&s super e in, since I cant turn the enricher off without it dying I suspect an intake leak. Should I use this tube of 518?

Might want to put a little loctite on the flange nuts but the gaskets just get a light coat of vaseline so they fully seat. Replace the voes vac line while you are at it. Did you test the manifold for leaks or doesn't it run good enough for that?

I have never had to pookie the intake on my bikes. First check to see if you do have a leak and where it is leaking with some carb cleaner.

No voes ... it will run good enough to test for leaks but if I turn the enricher all the way off it dies. just got back from picking up carb cleaner, starting fluid, and some WD40. I have done a few searches and if I dont detect a leak am I correct in assuming my idle slow speed something or other needs cleaned?

You do have the idle mixture screw turned out the right amount to start with, right? I don't remember the spec. 2-1/2 from a gentle bottom-out? And the carb isn't gunked up or anything, and the idle is set to 1000 RPM?

How quickly after you start the bike are you turning off the choke?

Ive set it up like the youtube video says 1 and a quarter off gentle bottom, and I pull the enricher up to start it and ease it off as it warms up 5-10 mins (30 degrees today) ... I can put it down to about a half inch off the air cleaner. Any lower and it dies.

No tach but turning the idle up has no effect on it dying with no choke

Ok, no intake leak, I got it to idle real nice without the enricher on and the throttle response is perfect. It has drag pipes is a little bit of flame normal. Not a fireball and no popping or bucking just a little subtle fire when I crack the throttle.

NO LOC-TITE on the intake, a little soap on the rubbers and that's it. the soap evaporates and keeps the intake from moving. I take it this is an S&S carb?? Which one??
