Default Choke adjustment

I have an 89 FLHS. This is probably a stupid question but after reattaching the choke to the carb, it no longer increases the RPM when pulled. I obviously have missed something and could use some advise.

You may have too much slack in the cable.

If I recall correctly the choke is adjustable as to where it grips the cable. Disconnect the cable, play with the choke and you will see how far it needs to move to raise the idle.

Set it so that it is not "on" when the choke is pushed in....easier to do than describe and its a coupla years since I messed with a butterfly but I am pretty sure that's how it works.
