Cool Electra Glide in Blue (and some Birch White on the side!)

I have finally plucked up courage to 'dress' Hyacinth's front fender, having got it back from my painter a few days ago. We have been away for a few days, hence not touching it as soon as I got it. Daren't think of trying to actually refit it!

Her original fender having got very rusty, this one is off a Centenary Ultra that hardly looked as if it had been ridden, there was so little sign of use inside it. Bowing to Evo peer group pressure, you may notice a little extra chrome bling!

Pic to follow shortly.

So is it safe to assume that the bags and fairing stayed white or did you go crazy and repaint the whole thing?

The only white parts left will be the 1983 batwing and 1987 tourpak, the rest will be matching blue. Prior to painting, the 2003 front fender was black, the 2008 rear one was grey, the 2009 6 gallon gas tank was black, the 2010 saddlebags green. So as you can see something had to change!

The only original 1990 parts will be the headlamp shell, fork shrouds and side panels and of those the only ones that were originally hifi candy are the side panels. I painted the others to match way back.

Is that gonna be the color your whole bike is?
It looks like a deeper blue than what is in your sig pic.

Daylight is very poor here at present, so I took that under electric light and with a flash. The original colour is HiFi Candy metallic, which is a translucent colour, while the new paint is a solid light blue. Putting the two beside each other it's difficult to describe how they compare. The blue parts you see in my sig pic will be new blue, plus the saddlebags.

I tried googling hyacinth blue.
It came up with a bunch of different shades of blue and purple so I guess I will wait and see.

Don't take that name too literally! With 'Buttercup' the yellow Buell, I had to have an 'H' for the blue Harley.....

Daylight is a bit better today, so here are a couple of new pics.
