I hate to tell you this but if your stator measures open (more than about 1 ohm) you will need to pull the inner AND outer primary, clutch, starter, and a bunch of other crap. It will be a looooong weekend for you.

I like Compufire 32 amp systems. Don't go with a 22 amp system. Those tiny pins suck.

If it is done right you will love that bike. There are about 6 other 85 wide glide owners on this site regularly. I have 85 WG schematics for you via email if you want.

compufire is about 250

You can get them much cheaper on ebay but if it fails again you're out another weekend, another charging system and possible towing costs.

You probably have the wide glide front end.

Just as an FYI you will get better results if you ask each question in a new thread rather than using one thread to ask all your questions.

As for the PM it wasn't a one time offer. Use it if you want to.
