New air cleaner and Dynojet kit.
Since I cant leave well enough alone, I went out and bought a SE stage 1 air cleaner kit and a Dyno Jet kit to go along with it. My problem is in the low speed circuit or just off idle. When I am cruising at say 25 in 2nd gear I feel it surging and every now and then I get a pop through the carb. I can replicate this in any gear at just off idle. at wide open throttle this thing runs like a champ. Here is the carb setup, pilot jet is a 45, main jet is 185 2.5 turns out on the mixture screw. This kit also has the thunder slide and thunder nozzle installed any other info you guys need I can get.
Thanks

Edit* forgot to mention that I was looking online and in 2 different spots one said to raise the needle 1 space and the other said to change the low jet to a 46 kind of confused as to which might be better.
Thanks

For the price of a dyno-jet kit you could have gone to HD and bought the stock emulsion tube, jets, a couple of needles and been farther ahead. The CV carb is capable of 100+ hp if treated right. The dyno-jet kit can raise the slide too fast in many occasions. This is caused by the lighter slide and spring. The whole purpose of the slide is to only allow enough air into the engine to comply with the engines needs. Open it too slow or too fast and performence suffers.
We like many others have spent untold hours learning by trial and error to find out what works and what doesn't. That being said every engine/bike/rider combination has slightly different combinations that can only be tuned by persistence!!! Hope this helps.
